Guido Berlucchi acquires Vigne Olcru
ANSA NEWS - From Franciacorta, the well-known sparkling wine company lands in Oltrepò Pavese.
The Ziliani family, owners of the Guido Berlucchi & C. winery, decide to expand their "range of action," bringing their know-how to the Metodo Classico sector and "move" into Oltrepò Pavese, with a new acquisition. In fact, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed in these days with the Brambilla Family, owner of Vigne Olcru, in Santa Maria La Versa (Pavia), for the acquisition of the winery, which covers about 28 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Pinot Noir, and has a modern winemaking cellar overlooking the hills of Oltrepò with ample space for hospitality.
"We are very happy to have found an agreement with the Brambilla Family and thus to be able to venture into another Lombardy territory with a vocation for the classic method," stresses Paolo Ziliani, President and Export Director of Guido Berlucchi. Thanks to our long experience, which we have built up in over sixty years, since in 1961 our father, with friends Guido Berlucchi and Giorgio Lanciani, created the first bottle of Metodo Classico in Franciacorta, we are confident," adds Ziliani, "that we will be able to tackle this new project with the same commitment and passion as always, but also with the humility of those who have to learn about a new territory.
"We could not have found a better partner than the Ziliani Family, for the closing of this deal," say Massimiliano and Matteo Brambilla. "We have the certainty that our company will be in safe hands, that its future path and that of the whole territory will be toward excellence, to bring Oltrepò and its productions to the level of international appreciation they deserve.
The winery Vigne Olcru" thus joins the other wineries of the Ziliani Family, which includes, in addition to the flagship Guido Berlucchi and boutique winery Antica Fratta in Franciacorta, Tenuta Caccia al Piano "in the Bolgheri DOC.
