Gerard Basset passed away

It is with great sadness that we give the news of the death of a great man in the world of wine: Gerard Basset.

At the age of 61, French, Master of Wine, Master Sommelier, Knight in England, world champion of Asi sommeliers in 2010, Gerard was first of all a great enthusiast and a great communicator of wine at the international level.

Our director, Daniele Cernilli, had met him personally at the Decanter World Wine Awards when he was one of the jurors and Bassel was president of the jury together with Steven Spurrier.
