Andrea Lonardi becomes Master of Wine

With Andrea Lonardi, chief operating officer of Angelini Wines & Estates, Italy has its second Master of Wine.
Andrea Lonardi from Veneto, 49, is the second Italian-after Gabriele Gorelli from Tuscany, who passed in 2021-to have passed the very difficult examination, recognized worldwide for its rigor and very exacting standards, and thus be admitted to the exclusive institution of Masters of Wine. This of the MW is a membership organization, operating for 70 years, with an outstanding international reputation. Its members are recognized worldwide for their very high level of expertise in the world of wine, both from a knowledge and trade perspective.
Today there are 414 Masters of Wine and they operate in 31 countries, but until two years ago Italy was cut off from this exclusive club. Members include oenologists, sommeliers, buyers, journalists, consultants, winemakers, academics, educators and others.
