The sons of Sangiovese in the world
The call to participate in the 5th edition of the Summer School of Sanguis Jovis, high school of Sangiovese, is now open.
From July 11 to 15, 2022 will take place the 5th edition of the Summer School of Sanguis Jovis. The theme is The sons of Sangiovese in the world: stories, wines, territories and markets.
The new edition of the Summer School offers a rediscovery of the roots of Sangiovese. A journey through lands, vines and markets. An interweaving of stories and eclectic identities told by professors, both academic and non-academic, of the highest level. The territory, the historical analysis through the anthropology of vines and the evolution of markets will be the main themes addressed during the course.
The Banfi Foundation is the promoter of Sanguis Jovis, the first Permanent Study Center on Sangiovese, which has as its objective the formation of professionals of Sangiovese, people solid in preparation, open to the new, rich in culture who can spread the value produced by the vine-growing of Sangiovese of Montalcino and Tuscany.
The course will be held at O.CR.A. Officina Creativa dell'Abitare (Via Boldrini 4, Montalcino- Siena) and will be open to twenty participants (10 Students, graduated no more than 18 months ago, and 10 Professionals), all selected through a call for admission.
The participation costs of the 10 students will be covered in full by scholarships offered by companies and institutions in the area. The course aims to encourage a meeting between young graduates and researchers with professionals and figures in the production-consumption chain. Bringing together in the classroom those who already work in the world of wine and those who aspire to do so, teachers from different backgrounds and scientific perspectives, stimulates an extraordinary circulation of information, to understand how the world of knowledge is evolving and how this relates to that of production and marketing.
