A sudden heart attack killed this morning, at the hospital of Senigallia (Ancona), the journalist and writer Gianni Mura, 74 years old.

For years he had been collaborating with the newspaper La Repubblica, where - as the newspaper itself recalls - "he has written memorable pages on sport and Italy in recent decades, from football to cycling". It was a pleasure to read what he wrote even for those who were not particularly fanatical about sport, just because of a question of "beautiful writing" and great journalism. As they say in jargon, it was a really nice pen. It's a very good pen.

For us who deal with food and wine, Gianni was also the one who signed, together with his wife Paola, a nice column on Friday of the Republic, where they talked about restaurants, gastronomy and wine. We will miss his way of seeing and telling things.

A hug to his wife Paola from all of us at DoctorWine.
