This morning during the Chianti Classico Collection at the Leopolda in Florence, Daniele Cernilli was awarded, together with the German journalist Jens Priewe, as Chianti Classico Ambassador ad Honorem by the President of the Consorzio Giovanni Manetti.

This was the motivation with which President Manetti conferred this prestigious award: "For the passion he has always shown for the appellation, for his thorough knowledge of Chianti Classico wines in thousands of tastings, for being one of the first to believe in the potential of the Sangiovese cultivated in these lands and for his commitment to spreading the unique characteristics of Gallo Nero wines.

In thanking the Consortium and the producers present, Daniele Cernilli recalled his experiences in Chianti Classico since the first time in the 1970s and commented that, in his lifetime, he has tasted over 12,000 wines among the different vintages of the appellation, perhaps the person in the world who has tasted the most.
