New happenings at Doctor Wine

I am set to undergo some minor surgery that will keep me sidelined for a little while but which in the end will allow me to lose a lot of weight. This being the case, I would like to take the occasion to thank all our readers and supporters and all the collaborators of our website and The Ultimate Guide to Italian Wine and to wish everyone my very best wishes of the upcoming holidays. Things are happening at Doctor Wine and I recently met with Luciano Pignataro, a Neapolitan journalist and wine and food blogger, and as is the case with Fabrizio Carrera’s Cronache di Gusto (Taste News), we will soon be exchanging articles and probably link up our respective sites. What’s more, Adua Villa, a famous and charming lady of wine, will now be collaborating with us, thus enlarging the sorority Doctor Wine has become and of which I am particularly proud. She is currently preparing her first article which you should be able to read sometime between the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017. I can still remember when Adua, very young, came from Avezzano to the Cavalieri Hotel to take the courses and seminars being offered by the Lazio chapter of the Association of Italian Sommeliers (AIS). She turned every man’s head around when she walked in with her high heels and we instructors had a hard time holding their attention on the subject at hand. The coming year will also see us return to the United States, in February, to present the English edition of The Ultimate Guide to Italian Wine in Dallas and Washington. Then at Vinitaly we will have a bigger and better stand and offer a host of seminars, some held together with the National Wine Tasters’ Organization (ONAV). And there’s more, much more, with other surprises in the coming months, one which will truly be outstanding but about which I will say nothing now just to play it safe. And so, once again, happy holidays!
