We are proud of the space the world of DoctorWine® (website, Ultimate Guide and seminars) is earning in the lives of wine lovers and wine and food trade operators.

DoctorWine® is a small reality. We are about to celebrate our seventh anniversary and I believe that over this time we have gained some ground thanks to our authoritativeness, great passion and the collaboration of a team of professionals who are intellectually honest as well as experts in the world of wine. I am well aware that the number of our readers is not enormous but it is constantly on the rise and the topics we cover have sparked their interest, as evidenced by the feedback and likes we have received.

For sure, we are not Dagospia but we do translate all our articles into English, produce every year our Ultimate Guide to Italian Wine (the last of which has almost sold out so few copies will be available for Vinitaly) and although we may be a small voice, it is much louder than it was when we started.

At Vinitaly and with Vinitaly we have a stand, which this year will be in pavilion 10 Stand A4/B4, where we will offer ten seminars for trade operators like restauranteurs, wine shopkeepers and wine bar operators as well as wine lovers. In just over a week, we have filled all the places available which means almost 300 people taking part and all of them from professional sectors, something that surprised me.

This was a good sign as was the report from SEO Zoom (which analyses SEO positioning) which told us that last year traffic on our website leapt by almost 90%, 86.98% to be precise. This was obviously thanks to the work of the whole team, and not just me, and so my thanks go out to everyone who contributed to this small but important success.

I must also express my sincere gratitude to all those who read us, appreciate what we do and even contest us because it is obviously important to also take into account criticism and disagreement. They add spice to a discussion, above all, as often happens, when their tone is not excessive and their positions are expressed in a sharp yet civil way. Some of our posts have provoked significant reactions, considering that we are a site dedicated to wine and not gossip, cooking or politics. I have found the views wine lovers offered us on so-called ‘natural’ wines, wine ‘snobbiness’ and even the price of wine to be very interesting and they have been also much appreciated by our other readers.

All this has contributed to making DoctorWine® a forum where ideas can be confronted as well as a place to find suggestions or make wine discoveries and I believe this is the path for our future. We must always stand firm, tell the stories of people in the world of wine and food and offer documented and honest information. In the end, we must always remain a public service that enhances the knowledge and awareness of wine and food, which is what all of us are passionate about. I hope you will forgive me if sometimes I also take time to talk about us.
