Sweet wines (2): Central Italy

Today we slowly head north in our quest for sweet wines and visit Italy’s central regions of Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna.

Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna are geographically considered to be in central Italy (even if many in Emilia-Romagna consider themselves to be northern Italians) and are home to some extraordinary sweet wines that are among the best in the world, in terms of history as well as quality. Then again, all of central Italy is a cornucopia of excellent sweet wines, from the Marche region to Umbria and Lazio.
